Today I finished up applying glass tape to all of the bulkhead fillets, and I cut out the forward and aft decks. Grace worked on filling in the stem and skeg with fillet material. We are on the way out to a movie right now, so I don't have time to write much. I will note that we were all ready to go bouldering at Moore's Wall tomorrow, but rain has come into the region and completely laid waste to our excitement and plans..........

We could have been crushing (or attempting to) here   :(

  1. Congratulations! Very good this is getting your Tiki 21. I intend to build one for me, and gives me looking at your motivation! I'll make minor modifications to increase slightly the inner area. On my blog you can see a Tiki 26 that finished the building in December of last year here in Florianopolis, Brazil. http://policat-marcosvela.blogspot.com

  2. Hi Brad,
I'm curious about the tapes over the fillets, as I have the standard construction with no tapes (apart from the keel). I posted about it on WB&F but got no replies. Is it just added insurance for strength?
    Cheers,
    Roger

  3. Roger, I am not positive on everything with the tape, but at best it will provide me with a little mental boost, knowing the joint is reinforced and all. If I'm chilling on a sea anchor, then the glass taped fillets will just be one more thing to add to my sense of security! I don't think it really matters in the long run, though, or James would have required it.
